Heather Klein Scholarship Fund
Honoring the Legacy of Heather Klein
A Scholarship Fund for Clinical Hypnosis Education

The Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis is deeply honored to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund in memory of Heather Klein. This fund is a tribute to Heather’s enduring passion for learning, her deep commitment to teaching, and her lasting impact on the field of clinical hypnosis.
Heather was not only a dedicated practitioner but also an inspiring teacher whose warmth, curiosity, and generosity of spirit touched everyone she worked with. She believed deeply in the transformative potential of clinical hypnosis and worked tirelessly to share her knowledge with both new and experienced clinicians. Her enthusiasm for learning was infectious, and she nurtured a sense of community and growth wherever she went.
In recognition of her legacy, the Heather Klein Memorial Scholarship Fund will support clinicians seeking training in clinical hypnosis, making it more accessible to those who share her commitment to compassionate care and lifelong learning. Through this scholarship, we hope to carry forward Heather’s vision—fostering excellence in clinical hypnosis while encouraging the next generation of learners and leaders in the field.
We are grateful for the opportunity to honor Heather’s memory in this meaningful way. Her spirit lives on in the community she helped build and in the healing work that continues through those she inspired.
Purpose of the Scholarship
The Heather Klein Scholarship aims to promote education in clinical hypnosis and reduce the possibility that financial limitations would become the sole barrier to seeking training with Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis (MSCH). The scholarship provides opportunities for individuals for whom the cost of training with MSCH is inaccessible or who work with historically marginalized groups or populations experiencing systemic inequities, with the goal of increasing access to professional training in clinical hypnosis.

Biography
Heather Kay Klein, 48, of Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away on June 7, 2023, after courageously facing the challenges of cancer. To say she lost her battle would be inaccurate—Heather never stopped fighting. Her unwavering strength, determination, and grace in the face of adversity were an inspiration to all who knew her. She taught us the true meaning of resilience, and those lucky enough to know her are better for it.
Born in 1975 in Alta, Iowa, Heather graduated from Alta High School in 1993 and earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Coe College. She went on to complete her doctorate in counseling psychology at Southern Illinois University and Ball State University.
Heather began her career as a therapist at Fairview Riverside’s Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health unit, where she built both professional experience and deep, lasting friendships. After becoming a Licensed Psychologist, she entered private practice, most recently working at Parkdale Therapy Group in St. Louis Park. Through her work, she guided countless individuals and families through life’s most difficult moments.
Her passion for helping others extended beyond the therapy room. Heather became deeply involved with the Minnesota Society for Clinical Hypnosis (MSCH), becoming certified in hypnosis therapy, using it in her practice, teaching others, and ultimately serving as co-President of the organization—a role she held at the time of her passing.
