Description

Join the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis on Saturday September 25, 2021 from 9 AM to 12 PM CST via ZOOM for a Clinical Hypnosis Practice/Refresher workshop. MSCH members will come together to learn, discuss, and practice techniques in all four stages of hypnosis (elicitation, intensification, utilization, and reorientation). Attendees will be invited to refresh their current skills as well as identify and explore skills they would like to develop further. Members are invited to bring case questions to share.

Objectives

  • Identify four stages of hypnotherapy, including elicitation, intensification, utilization, and reorientation
  • Learn two techniques for each of the four stages of hypnotherapy
  • Apply and practice techniques through case examples. 

Bio

Carol Siegel, PhD, LP is a clinical psychologist who has a private practice in Minneapolis, MN.  Her primary clinical focus is parenting and issues encountered by parents with complex histories, including foster care, trauma, and neglect.  Her training includes internships at the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Infant Parent Program at the University of California, San Francisco, and McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Belmont, Massachusetts.  In addition to private practice, Carol teaches in the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Program at the University of Minnesota.  She is a consultant to clinicians and home-visiting programs around the state and is endorsed by the Minnesota Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Association as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor (Level IV). Carol uses clinical hypnosis regularly in her practice for issues related to parenting, anxiety, pain, and sleep.  She serves on the board of Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis.  

Heather Klein, PhD, LP is a licensed psychologist at the Parkdale Therapy Group. She has completed specialized training in narrative therapy and hypnosis and often incorporates solution-focused, mindfulness, hypnosis, and creative/playful approaches in the therapeutic process. Heather often works with individuals experiencing a variety of life transitions/changes, anxiety, and depression. Use of the client’s expertise, metaphors, and collaboration build the foundation for the therapeutic process. Heather also has interests in the areas of supervision, training and teaching. She provides supervision to post-doctoral level psychologists and conducts workshops for mental health providers as well as members of the community. Heather is an active member of MSCH and ASCH. She is currently on the board of directors for MSCH. She fulfilled the role of Images Editor and she recently took on the position of Small Group Coordinator for MSCH’s annual conference. For ASCH, she is an ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis) Approved Consultant.
